Magnitude-6.9 quake hits Santa Cruz Islands

HONG KONG - An earthquake measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale jolted Santa Cruz Islands at 2102 GMT on Saturday (0502 Beijing Time on Sunday), the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 33.00 km, was initially determined to be at 10.9390 degrees south latitude and 165.8760 degrees east longitude.
