6.9-magnitude quake jolts northeast Russia

WASHINGTON - A 6.9-magnitude earthquake jolted Sakha in northeastern Russia on Thursday, the US Geological Survey said.

The earthquake, which occurred at 1313 GMT, was centered 340 kim north of Ust-Nera with a depth of 9.9 km, according to the USGS.
