Sudanese gov't, Darfur rebel group in peace agreement

KHARTOUM - Representatives of the Sudanese government and the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), a rebel group in the Darfur region, on Saturday signed a peace agreement in the Qatari capital of Doha, official SUNA news agency reported.

Sudanese Vice President Ali Osman Mohamed Taha attended the signing ceremony in Qatar. The Gulf country mediated the three months of negotiation between the two sides.

Also, Doha will host an international donors' meeting for rehabilitation and development in Darfur on Sunday.
