After a long journey of more than 50 days, a group of seven China-made MG cars arrived in the UK on Thursday, home of the world famous brand, to join the celebration of MG's 90th anniversary. The 18,000 Kilometres long journey started in Shanghai on April 25 and ended on June 20 at the MG Motor UK head-quarter in Longbridge, near Birmingham.
Travelling largely along the so-called 'Silk Road', the group covered 13 Euro-Asia and European countries.
British heritage car brand MG was founded in 1924. After a difficult period of time MG was purchased in 2005 by Chinese car manufacturer Nanjing Automobile Corporation, which later became part of China's largest car maker SAIC. New models are now being manufactured and developed by SAIC in the UK.
