GAZA - Israeli war jets carried out on Tuesday night a series of airstrikes on militants' facilities in northern and central Gaza Strip, security sources and witnesses said.
Security officials said the first airstrike targeted a training post belonging to Islamic Jihad militants and a land used for launching rockets into Israel in northern Gaza Strip.
They said the F16 fighter jets, which intensively hovered over the coastal enclave, struck several targets belonging to Hamas militants in central Gaza Strip.
Paramedics and witnesses said ambulances and rescue crews rushed to the targeted areas, and no injuries were reported.
The Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip were a response to seven rockets firing earlier into Israel.
Medics said that one of the Palestinian rockets exploded right after it was launched and wounded three Palestinian children who were in the area, adding that one of the children died of serious injury.
