The Commission team, including 27 commissioners, plus Juncker himself as EC president, was approved Wednesday by the European Parliament.
The commissioners include seven vice presidents and some renowned politicians, such as Italian former Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini, who will be vice president and the high representative of the Union for Foreign Affair.
The Treaty of the European Union stipulates that the European Commission "shall be subject as a body to a vote of consent by the European Parliament."
And on the basis of this consent the Commission shall be appointed by the European Council, acting by a qualified majority.
