PYONGYANG - The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) said it will on Friday extradite a national of the Republic of Korea (ROK) who illegally entered the DPRK in late November through Panmunjom, the official KCNA news agency reported Wednesday.
The 52-year-old man from the ROK, who has admitted his illegal entry, said he has appealed to the DPRK for living in the country because the ROK authorities considered him as a psychopath and restricted his personal freedom, the KCNA said.
The DPRK side has persuaded him into returning to the south to reunite with his family out of humanitarian concerns, it added.
The chairman of the central committee of the DPRK Red Cross Society on Wednesday sent a notice to the ROK Red Cross Society to inform about the handover, according to the report.
