BEIJING - Leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) economies are determined to work together to fight the rampant Ebola epidemic, Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Tuesday.
Xi said they will make joint efforts to help African countries become more capable to effectively cope with and control the epidemic.
The APEC economies support the United Nations' leading role in assisting Africa to combat the outbreak of the disease, he told a press conference after the conclusion of the 22nd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting at the Yanqi Lake International Convention Center in northern suburb of Beijing.
