On March 21 the Energy and Water Ministry of Angola (EWMA) held activities marking the 2014 World Water Day. CEEC was the only Chinese enterprise invited to the activities.

While attending the event, EWMA minister Batista said that water and energy are important resources for improving the country's current situation and that the Angolan government will take more efficient use of water and electricity as one of its main objectives in the years to come.

By formulating an overall program and the corresponding implementation plan for the development and utilization of water resources, the Angolan government will expand the existing and build new urban and rural water supply systems to ensure balanced allocation and efficient use of the country's water resources.

Since entering into Angola in 2005, CEEC has successively built the Mabubasi, Lomaum and Kunre hydropower stations; completed the Dunai Dam repair project; upgraded the existing municipal water supply network of Luanda; built new water supply networks and connected them to the households; and completed the water supply system rehabilitation works of Macra city.

All these have made valuable contributions to the rational utilization of water resources and the improvement of water environment, effectively improved the living conditions of the local people and therefore, have won high recognition of the Angolan government and people.
