Chinese Defense Minister meets Kazakhstan counterpart
BEIJING - Chinese Defense Minister Chang Wanquan met with his Kazakhstan counterpart, Serik Akhmetov, to discuss enhancing military ties on Monday.
Hailing healthy and stable development in the China-Kazakhstan comprehensive strategic partnership over two decades of diplomatic ties, Chang said political mutual trust and bilateral cooperation in various fields has reached a new height.
The two militaries conduct frequent high-level contact and maintain close exchanges under multilateral frameworks, said Chang, expressing hope the two sides will further enhance bilateral cooperation so as to lift the ties to a higher level.
Akhmetov said it is one of Kazakhstan foreign policy's priorities to develop bilateral ties with China.
He said Kazakhstan is willing to deepen cooperation with China in various fields, including military technology.
