First lady steps out in Seoul in style

The first lady has impressed the world with her gracious manner, warm smile and stylish attire since her debut official trip. The Associated Press described her as "a Chinese diplomatic star". This time in South Korea, the elegant and fashionable first lady also won the people's hearts.

Peng is a renowned Chinese folk singer. During the state dinner, a South Korean chorus presented the song In the Field of Hope, which was one of Peng's most famous songs. According to Yonhap News Agency, the song was prepared especially for Xi and Peng.
President compared to South Korean actor
Peng talked about the popular South Korean TV show My Love from the Star during her visit to the Changdeokgung Palace, according to Yonhap News Agency.
Peng said, "I think he (Xi) is my love from the star". She also said she discussed the show with her daughter, and both agreed that when Xi was young, he looked like the hero of the show, played by actor Kim Soo-hyun.
Peng's dressing smart
Named as the best-dressed first lady by Vanity Fair in 2013, Peng maintained her elegant style during the visit. Peng is a fan of smart suits and simple handbags. Korea's Joongang Daily gave many details of Peng's choice of shirt, coat and handbag, and praised her hairstyle and earrings.
Buying cake for husband
According to a Twitter post, Peng visited Dongdaemun Gate (Great Eastern Gate) and bought some cake for her husband on Thursday evening. Some netizens excitedly asked, "Is it a midnight snack for uncle Xi?"
Dongdaemun Gate is one of eight gates in the fortress wall of Seoul, as well as the largest wholesale market in Asia. Selling dresses, toys, accessories, food and many other kinds of goods, it is a popular destination for overseas tourists.
