WWF partners with BizConf to promote green office in China

The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and BizConf Telecom Co., Ltd. (BizConf) jointly announced the launch of the WWF Green Office initiative in China at a press conference held here on Wednesday in Beijing.

The WWF Green Office initiative is a practical environmental management system for offices, which helps enterprises and organizations reduce the ecological footprint and greenhouse gas emissions of the office and enables employees to work and live in a more sustainable way.

The initiative was created by WWF Finlandin 2002 and first embraced by a number of enterprises and organizations with a strong environmental awareness in Europe. The WWF Green Office network is now comprised of more than 600 offices from nearly 300 enterprises in 11 countries, covering more than 80,000 employees.

This WWF-BizConf partnership marks the first time that WWF partners with a Chinese enterprise to promote the initiative. WWF and BizConf jointly released their partnership logo. BizConf will help promote the WWF Green Office initiative and its concept in its industry. Besides, with BizConf's support, WWF Green Office members can leverage BizConf's state-of-the-art video conferencing solution to effectively reduce travels.

After receiving Green Office applications from enterprises or organizations, WWF will conduct a preliminary review and then provide them with comprehensive Green Office training, helping them formulate and implement their Green Office plans and granting them the "WWF Green Office"certification.

BizConf is a communication technology company which provides multinationals and large Chinese enterprises with multipoint communication services, with clients covering 70% of Fortune 500 companies in China. With the rise of environmental awareness and the green economy in recent years, a growing number of Chinese enterprises have established cooperation with BizConf in various ways.

The enterprise multipoint communication cloud services such as stable voice, smooth network and high-definition video which BizConf offers to its clients have greatly reduced their business travel expenses and helped reduce traffic congestions and greenhouse gas emissions. The partnership with BizConf will further empower the WWF GREEN Office initiative and increase its"greenness".

The WWF Green Office China Launch was attended by five large enterprises which remotely introduced their Green Office practices via BizConf's ConfCloud platform. According to Chen Tejun, Director of Public Relations at BY-HEALTH, who made an address via videoconferencing, the Green Office initiative will effectively reduce enterprises' office expenses and can also serve as an employee education project which encourages them to work in an environmentally friendly way in addition to building the enterprises' socially responsible image.
