British Prime Minister David Cameron said that the United Kingdom wants to boost relations with China and would like to be China's most open cooperative partner in a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Tuesday.

Cameron said that Britain wants to push bilateral trade, encourage the two nations' enterprises to do two-way investments and welcomes China to invest more in the UK in various industries, including high-speed rail, civilian nuclear power, aviation and telecommunication.

He also said that the UK will enhance negotiations related to investment protection between China and the Europe, as well as conduct research to improve free-trade between the two sides.

Cameron said he is looking forward to Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit in October, adding the all departments in the UK are standing by, hoping to show the UK-China cooperative achievements and bright prospects.

Foreign Minister Wang also highlighted the future visit of Xi, saying it will become a milestone of two countries' ties. "We should prepare more for the visit, ensure it goes smoothly and guide our relations into a golden age," he added.
