The locomotive of the TGV with about 800 people on board caught fire Friday at Saint-Quentin-Fallavier in Isere for an unknown reason, causing significant delays on the Paris-Marseille line, said BFMTV.

All of the passengers on the train were evacuated and no injuries were reported, said a spokesman of SNCF in Rhone-Alpes, cited by BFMTV.

According to him, the locomotive of the TGV began to emit smoke and then caught fire late Friday afternoon.

About 80 firefighters are on site to control the fire.
