It is important that global leaders regularly exchange views. One message being sent is that Davos is an excellent opportunity to exchange views and ideas on current topics with other global leaders. In addition, Switzerland is an important investment opportunity for China, and vice-versa.
Simeon Probst, director of customs and trade, Price water house Coopers Switzerland
I hope and expect that Premier Li will both demonstrate and explain the government's commitment to continued economic reform, as well as comment on the prospects for the Chinese economy against the backdrop of both domestic and international challenges.
Stephen Phillips, chief executive, China-Britain Business Council
The Davos meeting is an important meeting, and Premier Li's participation signals that the Chinese government believes it is important to participate in the dialogue about global economic policy, and for China to signal engagement. I don't think it is the time for discerning discussions about China's structural economic problems but an opportunity for Premier Li to strengthen his resolve in tackling them.
