A Chinese-Polish memorandum on building a nuclear plant and high-speed railway will be signed during Polish President Andrzej Duda's visit to China, according to Xinhua News Agency.

Duda told Chinese media the Polish energy sector - based on coal - will be modernized and supplemented with alternative energy sources.

Xinhua also published a report on Sino-Polish cooperation on nuclear and high-speed train technology.

Stawomir Majman, president of the Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency, said eight contracts have been signed regarding exports of Polish dairy and mining equipment and the sale of Polish food via China's largest Internet platform. They also cover scientific and technical cooperation with Polish universities and research centers. Under one of the agreements, Polish products will be promoted in Shanghai.

Premier Li Keqiang and leaders from 16 Central and Eastern European countries will attend a meeting in Suzhou, and President Xi Jinping will meet with the 16 leaders in Beijing.

The meeting will propose new measures and expand areas for cooperation between China and Central and Eastern Europe. These cover interconnectivity, investment and trade, finance, agriculture and people-to-people exchanges.

Economic cooperation with China is on Bulgaria's priority list, taking into account the huge potential and brisk development of the world's second-largest economy, according to Bulgaria's Economy Minister Bozhidar Lukarski.

Lukarski was speaking on Monday at the opening of "Invest in Bulgaria. Expand in Europe", an investment forum in Shanghai organized by InvestBulgaria and attended by more than 100 Chinese companies.

Lukarski said the potential of Bulgaria as part of the European Union market and the achievements of the Chinese economy have created favorable conditions for increasing bilateral cooperation.
