China's top quality authority has conducted risk assessments on importing ginseng chicken soup from the Republic of Korea, following an agreement signed on Saturday that allows the ROK to export the soup to China.

The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said on Monday that it has formulated detailed requirements for ginseng chicken soup to be exported to China including requirements on the age of ginseng to be used as an ingredient, and on temperatures at which the chicken is cooked.

The administration said it has received applications from the ROK to export the soup to China.

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said on Sunday, while on a State visit to the ROK, that he will recommend the soup, a popular dish in the ROK, to Chinese people.

The two countries also signed agreements that allowed the ROK to export rice and live aquatic animals to China.
