Business leaders look into the future of intelligent manufacturing

Intelligent manufacturing is the direction for the upgrading of traditional manufacturing industry and also helps manufacturing companies stay competitive, said Wang Haibin, senior vice-president and chief process information officer of SANY Group during the Internet Plus sub forum of the Second World Internet Conference on Thursday.

An intelligent manufacturing company will have its own big data system, which pools all information from the research and development process, production process, quality control process as well as suppliers and customers, said Wang.

Take Siemens plant in Germany as an example, we now manufacture more than 1,000 varieties of products and record daily more than 5,000 manufacturing data, said Wang. Without large-scale expansion of production workshops, the plant saw both remark growth for its business volume and also number of clients in the past three decades thanks to intelligent manufacturing.
