HOUSTON - One person was dead and five others injured Wednesday in a hazardous materials incident happening near the University of Texas (UT) campus in Austin, capital city of the US Texas state.
Firefighters responded to a hazardous materials call at a housing complex near the UT campus and found a man in his 20s dead at the scene, but there is no immediate confirmation if the victim is a UT student, according to local TV station KTRK.
Hundreds of people were evacuated from their apartments near the UT campus following the incident.
The exposure of hydrogen sulfide, often used in chemical suicide, was reported at the housing complex, and the fire department said that they will investigate the cause of the incident.
