China plans to work with new US government: Foreign Ministry
China hopes to work with the new US government to promote continuously healthy and stable development of China-US ties, Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said at a regular news conference.
Lu made the remarks in Beijing Wednesday afternoon, after Donald Trump claimed victory in the US presidential election.
Trade between China and the US benefits both peoples, and this is why trade has been growing significantly during the past four decades, Lu said.
"As to specific discrepancies in bilateral trade, China and the US, as important members under the World Trade Organization framework, already have got some mature ways to deal with them," said the spokesman, adding that trade has helped increase jobs, rather than the opposite.
US Ambassador to China Max Baucus says "the world's most important relationship" between Beijing and Washington will remain stable regardless of the outcome of the US presidential election, the Associated Press reported on Wednesday.
