Airport closed after shooting near terminal in US state of Oklahoma
HOUSTON - The Will Rogers airport was closed Tuesday afternoon following a shooting near the airport's terminal in Oklahoma City, capital of the US state of Oklahoma.
The shooting happened in a parking lot outside the terminal shortly before 1:00 pm local time and one person was shot, and police were looking for a possible second victim, according to local English newspaper the Oklahoman.
Police have confirmed the shooting, saying that they have blocked off the streets around the airport and are asking people to avoid going to the airport.
Airport officials said that all in-and out-bound flights have been suspended while police are investigating the incident.
Witnesses said that helicopters are hovering over the airport and a fire engine rushed to the airport.
The victim has been sent to a hospital for medical treatment, and the condition of the person is not clear.
