Urumqi is proceeding with a cross-border medical service platform and has already connected to 17 hospitals in Kyrgyzstan.

It will soon reach 90 hospitals of eight bordering countries including Pakistan and Kazakhstan. The city’s long-term plan is to make 10 to 15 hospitals of Urumqi accessible to patients of every bordering country and deal with 100 overseas patients each day.

The medical service platform, built in July of 2016, aims to benefit foreign patients with Urumqi’s high quality medical service.

Urumqi officials said that the platform offers a cluster of medical resources of the Xinjiang Uyghur autonomous region and elsewhere in China.
