Xi stresses the importance of pursuing new models of global growth, cooperation, governance and development
On Jan 17, President Xi Jinping attended the opening session of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2017 in Davos and delivered a keynote speech.
In his speech, President Xi pointed out the following root causes of the sluggish global economy: Lack of robust driving forces for global growth makes it difficult to sustain the steady growth of the global economy: inadequate global economic governance makes it difficult to adapt to new developments in the global economy; and uneven global development makes it difficult to meet people's expectations for better lives. He stressed the need to develop a dynamic innovation-driven growth model, a model of open and win-win cooperation featuring a well-coordinated and inter-connected approach, a model of fair and equitable governance in keeping with the trend of the times, and a balanced, equitable and inclusive development model.
