Kenyan President sends good wishes for Chinese New Year

PRESIDENT UHURU KENYATTA'S GOODWILL MESSAGE ON THE OCCASION OF THE CHINESE NEW YEAR

The people of Kenya join me in sending sincere wishes of peace and prosperity to the people of China and all those who will celebrate the Chinese New Year on Saturday (January 28, 2017).

The economic, cultural and people-to-people ties that link our countries go back more than half a millennium, and they are stronger today than they have ever been. 

We fought colonialism together in the past; today, we fight for development that serves our people and protects our planet; and for an international order that respects the equal dignity of all peoples.

Today, therefore, we celebrate the vibrant friendship between Kenya and China, and we hope that in years to come that relationship will continue blossoming. 

I wish you all a productive and peaceful Chinese New Year 2017.
