US President Donald Trump will hold his first summit with EU leaders next Thursday and will join NATO heads of state and government on the same day, the EU announced.

“The President of the European Council Donald Tusk and the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker will meet the President of the United States Donald Trump,” European Council announced in a news release

It said the meeting will be held on Thursday (25 May) but did not give a detailed agenda.

Both Tusk and Juncker had invited Trump to Brussels to hold US-EU summit “as soon as possible” when he won the election last year.

A meeting of NATO Heads of State and Government has already been scheduled starting from early afternoon of next Thursday and lasting until late night that day at the new NATO Headquarters in Brussels.

The EU-US summit is expected to take place in the morning next Thursday at EU headquarters.

After the two summits within one day, Trump and the EU leaders will be flying to Italy to attend the G7 summit, which will be organized in Taormina on 26 and 27 May. They are expected to focus on the global economy, foreign policy, security of citizens, and environmental sustainability at G7 summit.
