At least 26 injured in rollercoaster accident in Spain
MADRID - At least 26 people, some of them children, were injured when two trains collided on a rollercoaster at an amusement park here, local emergency services said Sunday.
The accident happened at around 2:30 pm local time (1230 GMT) on a rollercoaster called the 'Tren de la Mina' (the Mine Train) in the Parque de Atracciones theme park.
It is the first rollercoaster in Spain where riders can wear interactive virtual reality glasses.
No serious injuries were reported and the wounded have been taken to local hospitals, mostly suffering from vomiting, cuts and bruises.
The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
