Facts & figures about China's major-country diplomacy: People-to-people exchanges
Editor's Note: China is rolling out a major documentary series on its diplomatic principles, practices and achievements over the past five years. The English-language version of the program will soon be available on TV and online. To help audience better understand Chinese diplomacy, Xinhua is releasing a variety of reports that include anecdotes, quotable quotes, facts and figures.
The following is a set of numbers related to people-to-people exchanges:
* 10,000 -- China will act to enable access to satellite TV programs for 10,000 African villages.
* 300 -- More than 300 sinologists worldwide have since 2013 benefited from China-hosted symposiums on Sinology and contemporary China as well as China-sponsored research projects for young sinologists.
* 60 -- The sinologists were from more than 60 countries.
* 131 -- A total of 131 countries have, by the end of July 2017, signed agreements with China on various kinds of mutual visa exemptions.
* 64 -- Chinese citizens holding national passports in overseas trips can enjoy visa exemption or visa upon arrival in 64 countries and regions.
