The Global One-stop Aviation Maintenance Base is Xiamen's solution to the country's call to build homegrown jumbo airliners. Located in the Xiamen Pilot Free Trade Zone, the base is home to 12 aircraft maintenance enterprises.
The output of Xiamen's aircraft maintenance industry was 12.11 billion yuan ($1.84 billion) in 2016, up 24.8 percent, and accounted for one-fourth of the nation's total.
In the same year, the industry's imports and exports totaled 18.13 billion yuan, an increase of 20.7 percent and one of the highest in China, as well as in other countries and regions in the Asia-Pacific region.
HAECO Xiamen, as a member of the HAECO Group based at the aviation maintenance base, cooperates with the Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, Ltd (COMAC) in technical and management training. Both parties are discussing further cooperation in developing maintenance training, C919 type course training and simulator training.
