On the morning of Sept 11, 2001, America fell victim to one of the deadliest attacks in the nation’s history. Nineteen al-Qaida terrorists hijacked four passenger planes and crashed them into the Twin Towers of World Trade Center in New York, and Pentagon in Virginia. One plane crashed in Shanksville, Pennsylvania after passengers attempted to retake the control of the plane.
The attacks, blamed on Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda extremist network, killed nearly 3,000 people. 3,000 Children lost a parent, including more than 100 who were not yet born. For every person killed on September 11, another 73 have been killed since. Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein are dead, but Iraq and Afghanistan are far from stable.
