Intl probe of Malaysian airliner crash demanded |
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham offered Iranians' deep sorrow on the crash of the Malaysian passenger plane in east of Ukraine, saying that the country condoles with Malaysia, its government and the bereaved family of victims of the disaster.
In a separate message to Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razzak, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani expressed his sympathy with Malaysia and its government over the event.
"The news on downing the Malaysian passenger plane deeply depressed me. I sincerely condole with Your Excellency and the noble Malaysian nation on the death of innocent passengers and flight crew of this plane in that sad accident," he was quoted as saying by IRNA.
A Boeing 777 passenger plane with 283 passengers and 15 crew members on board crashed on Thursday in eastern Ukraine near the Russian border. There were no survivors.
