China's Fashion Furniture Design Competition of 2017, the second edition of the event, was announced to kick off in Beijing on Thursday.
The competition was co-launched by Kinetic, a major furniture manufacturer based in Guangzhou, 163.com, and Chi Wing Lo, a Chinese designer widely embraced by contemporary Italian design circle. It aims to nurture young Chinese furniture designers and introduce more creativity to Chinese manufacturers.
Works of 12 winners will be exhibited during Milan Furniture Fair 2018 in April. The top three winners are to get a 60,000 yuan ($8,800) bonus plus chances to attend the fair in Milan.
A training camp, which includes some top professionals in the industry in China as tutors, will be held during the competition to incubate better ideas with international horizons among the designers.
This year's award-winners will be revealed by December.
