Zhong’s paintings convey a sense of tranquility, which he has gained from years spent living in several European cities. He also blends in his feelings about people’s state of mind when he returns to China.
The paintings, jointly finished by Min and Wolff, were done during their residency in a Beijing suburb months ago. They portray landscapes outside their temporary studio in an expressionist manner.
Wolff is also showing several works inspired by a trip with Zhong to areas along the Three Gorges in the summer of 2016. The heavy layering of paint has added a historic depth.
