Are we ready for self-driving cars?

The idea of autonomous driving is in its infancy stage. Like any computer software, it is prone to glitches and certainly not ready for use by the general public. Driverless vehicles use a variety of techniques to detect their surroundings, but that doesn't imply you can have your hands off the wheel or eyes off the road. There's a long way to go before this fantasy becomes reality.
