China and Singapore should step up cooperation under the Belt and Road framework and in areas including connectivity and finance, Vice-Premier Han Zheng said on Friday.
Han made the remarks in a meeting with Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean at the Great Hall of the People.
Han said China is ready to implement consensus reached between leaders of the two countries, as the two nations established a comprehensive cooperative partnership during President Xi Jinping's visit to Singapore in 2015.
The two sides should further enhance mutual political trust, seek greater synergy between development strategies, and give full play to mechanisms including the Joint Council for Bilateral Cooperation, he said.
Both sides should also push forward major cooperative programs and strengthen trilateral cooperation, and advance the joint project of building the Southern Transport Corridor.
According to a statement released after the meeting, Teo said Singapore attaches great importance to relations with China, and has always supported free trade.
Singapore is willing to strengthen cooperation with China under the Belt and Road framework and work towards new outcomes for bilateral cooperation, he said.
