Traditional Chinese elements are another important factor.

A New Year's Reunion by Yu Liqiong, tells the story of a migrant worker father who rushes home from the city to reunite with his family during the Chinese New Year. The pictures generate festive atmosphere, family warmth and family reunion with Chinese characteristics. A reader Mary Ann said in a comment that the children will learn from this book how important the New Year celebration is in China.

By July 2018, the collection of the world library of A New Year's Reunion has reached 1,541, meaning that it has widely spread overseas.

The spiritual core of traditional cultural symbols and festival customs is introduced into novels. From this perspective, children's books play an indirect role in building national image. The author shows a long history, a harmonious and civilized Chinese image to the overseas audience, and foreign readers also feel the brilliance of Chinese children's literature and even Chinese culture from the book.
