China, Qatar agree to drop visa requirement from next week

Agreements on mutual visa exemption between China and Qatar will take effect on Dec 21, officials from both countries announced on Wednesday.

State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, deputy prime minister and foreign minister of Qatar, agreed that the two countries are ready to use this opportunity to promote tourism cooperation and increase people-to-people exchanges.

Wang and Mohammed co-chaired the first meeting of China-Qatar governmental strategic dialogue mechanism in Beijing.
