Armed men raid Paris bank in daytime robbery

PARIS - An armed group robbed a bank in the Champs-Elysees Avenue of the French capital on Tuesday and seized unknown amount of cash before fleeing away, local media reported.

Citing police source, BFMTV television said that four hooded and armed men stormed earlier in the morning Milleis bank which is located few hundred meters from the Elysee Palace.

They had sequestered the bank's workers before looting it. The robbery lasted more than 3 hours, and the robbers had emptied more than 30 coffers. Police didn't say how much was taken, according to the report.

An investigation into the robbery was opened while the perpetrators are still on the run.
