The Inner Mongolia Institute of Camel Research and Alshaa Institute of Animal Husbandry recently invited a professor, surnamed Amir, from the University of Tehran to conduct China's first embryo transfer program for camels, according to local media reports.

The professor said the ET program would not only increase the ratio of female camels, but also increase production of camel milk, benefiting local herdsmen.

Camels born as a result of the ET program have strong genes and are more valuable than hybrid improved varieties, strengthening the camel gene pool and allowing the establishment of a gene bank.
