A woman in her twenties was given a six-month prison sentence, suspended for a year, by the People's Court of Hongkou district in Shanghai for maliciously deleting her company’s online information on her first day of work.
The procuratorate of Hongkou district said in a news release on Wednesday that the woman, surnamed Yang, received an offer from the lingerie company in August to work as a designer after she submitted several design works during the interview.
Following a dispute with a department manager for a new design work, Yang offered to resign. Back at home, the woman realized that her access to the company’s online store was still available. She then modified the store’s profile image and homepage out of spite. She also deleted some of the product pictures and category information.
The company spent nearly 30,000 yuan ($ 4,470) to recover the homepage.
