China will push for reducing and even removing the long-distance and roaming charges for Hong Kong and Macao residents, the country's top economic planner said on Thursday.
Luo Wen, vice-chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission, said at a State Council Information Offices news conference that, to develop a quality circle for living, working and traveling in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the government will introduce a series of supportive policies for Hong Kong and Macao residents.
More efforts are needed to develop a one-hour transport circle, offering quick and convenient ways for traveling as well as reduce and even scrap the long-distance and roaming charges for citizens in Hong Kong and Macao, Luo added.
