Is it time to adopt a four-day work week?

Desirable it may be, but not practical in the current world order.

What I would consider (as thought exercise if nothing more), is to limit work days to four PER JOB.

Employees could (and should) use one day to do some other work, maybe in a completely different field. It could be a regular paid job (one day per week), or more communal or even volunteer work, or even studying.

It would broaden people's horizons, and in some countries it could better prepare people for changing work environments. It is not unheard of (even in China) that old careers simply stop existing, and this kind of arrangement could help people to explore alternatives early on.
