Are green burials a growing trend in China?

Editor's note: As the Qingming Festival approaches, many people visit tombs and pay their respects to deceased family members. Due to a scarcity of land for cemeteries, China is promoting environmentally friendly funerals, such as scattering ashes of loved ones at sea or burying them in soil without erecting tombstones. Forum readers share their opinions.

Traditional burials have been maintained for thousands of years in China, so it is not easy to change people's mind overnight. We should find a way to solve this problem both for land-saving and custom-reserving.
