Britain's Queen Elizabeth will turn 93 on April 21 and has remained on the throne for nearly 66 years. In September 2015, she surpassed Queen Victoria, who reigned for 63 years, seven months and two days, to become the longest-reigning monarch in Britain's history.

Her 97-year-old husband Prince Philip retired from public life in 2017, although he occasionally appears together with her at official events.

The royal family is expecting a new member soon as Meghan Markle, the wife of Prince Harry, is giving birth to their first child later in April or early in May. Even though the child will only be seventh in line to the British throne, the birth is set to grab headlines across the globe.
