Sudan security chief resigns

KHARTOUM - Chief of Sudan's National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) Salah Abdalla on Saturday submitted his resignation, according to a statement by Sudan's Transitional Military Council.

Chairman of the Transitional Military Council Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan Abdel-Rahman has approved the resignation presented by Salah Abdalla from his post as chief of the NISS, the statement said.

Abdel-Rahman was appointed on Friday as chairman of the military council succeeding Awad Mohamed Ahmed Ibn Auf who announced his resignation the same day.
