'Dying to Survive' wins award Beijing

Huang Jianxin, a former head of the guild and veteran director, won the award for the most-significant contribution to the industry.

The best actress award went to Ma Yili for Lost, Found, while auteur Jia Zhangke scooped the best director prize for his art house film Ash is Purest White.

There was also recognition for emerging film talent in Tibet, with the best scriptwriter award shared by Sonthar Gyal and Tashi Dawa for the psychological drama Ala Changso.

Felix Chong, who received acclaim for his directorial crime suspense film Project Gutenberg, which was also written by Chong, won the best director award for Hong Kong and Taiwan films.
