Chinese customs intercepts oil sunflower seeds

Xinhua | Updated: 2019-05-08 15:50

ZHENGZHOU - Customs in the city of Zhengzhou, capital of Central China's Henan province, has intercepted 50,000 oil sunflower seeds.

The seeds, which were sent by mail from Japan, were not approved by customs or other agricultural authorities, according to local customs.

Plant seeds without quarantine or approval can severely harm the ecological safety and production in agriculture and forestry.

Zhengzhou customs has intercepted 45 batches of plant seeds and sprouts that were illegally mailed this year.
