Zahoor Ahmed, the vice-president in charge of strategy and partnerships at MIE Groups said the Belt and Road Initiative has provided ample opportunities for CTW.

"When we launched this trade show back in 2015, we would have never anticipated that it would become the biggest business to business event in Kenya. We are very happy to have this position which we honor dearly."

David Wang, the chairman of MIE Group, said CTW is committed to connecting the Kenyan traders with Chinese manufactures to facilitate easy sourcing of goods.

"CTW is a must plan for both the Chinese and Kenyan traders. The trade show will foster the required dialogue to enhance the trade between the two countries," he said.

Due to the magnitude of the event, CTW Kenya 2019 will be held in two phases. Phase 1 runs from June 5-7, gathering Chinese and local exhibitors presenting building materials, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.

This is in addition to lighting products, water and environmental treatment, furniture and interior, textiles and print, packaging and plastic products.

Phase 2 runs from June 10-12 and will host consumer goods, automobiles and auto parts, electrical and IT as well as agriculture sector.

Parallel to this year’s trade show, China Wu Yi’s Coloho Mall will host a shopping festival from June 7-9. The mall features retail sections for furniture, ceramic floor tiles, doors and window ceilings.
