Zhang said Kenya is an important market for Zhong Wu E-commerce because of its geographical advantages, good investment environment and huge market potential.

"Zhong Wu E-commerce is committed to enhancing the influence of the Coloho brand in Kenya," he said.

Zhang said the company signed a strategic cooperation with the Fujian Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

They also signed a strategic cooperation with Oversea Warehouse Group to build the Kenya building materials exhibition hall and overseas warehouses.

"These important measures aim to provide a good cooperation platform for building materials and home manufacturers, as well as Kenyan and Chinese sellers. It will also promote economic and trade exchanges as well as cooperation between China and Kenya," Zhang said.

Dr. Moses Ikiara, the managing director of the Kenya Investment Authority, congratulated China Wu Yi's leadership for engaging in various activities at the same time, ranging from building roads to trading and manufacturing, saving Kenyans from travelling to Guangzhou to purchase construction materials.

"I thank the MIE Group for organizing CTW, because through the exhibition, they have created awareness and exposed our country to investors. The building and home furnishing exhibition at Coloho Mall is very close to our government focus," he said.

Dr. Ikiara said construction is an enabler for all the economic pillars that have been set for realization of vision 2030, an economic blue print that focuses on eradicating poverty in Kenya.

"We are grateful that the expo is showcasing construction materials with some being manufactured in Kenya. For the next two decades, the demand for construction materials in Kenya will be so high," he said.

Jacob Mwangi, the chief executive officer of the Architectural Association of Kenya, congratulated China Wu Yi Group for setting up the shopping mall, naming it as one of a kind.

"This mall will make it easier for the building and construction practitioners to source materials," he said

Mwangi said the demand for housing construction in Kenya will continue to be vibrant because in addition to the growing population, the country has a housing deficit.
