Chinese shares rebound on Monday

Chinese shares witnessed sharp surge on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 2.22 percent, closing at 3,044.90.

The Shenzhen Component Index picked up 3.84 percent, closing at 9,530.46.

The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, rose 3.75 percent to 1,568.16 points.
