BEIJING - The 83rd general meeting of International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), the world's leading organization that publishes international standards for electronics-related technologies, will be held in Shanghai in October.
Over 2,500 representatives, including IEC members, the international and regional standardization organizations and experts, will attend the meeting.
China will accelerate the transformation of new technologies, processes, materials, and products into international standards, said Tian Shihong, deputy head of the State Administration for Market Regulation.
He added that Chinese enterprises and research institutions in the electronic industry would participate in IEC international standards assessment activities to promote the development of international trade.
China formally joined the IEC in 1957 and became a permanent member in 2011. It has submitted 186 international standards to the IEC, making contributions to the IEC international standardization governance and standards system improvement.
